Secretary Blinken: Expect More Destruction In Ukraine

Introduction :

This document is a youtube video of a radio program from NPR (National public radio).

The two speakers are Steve inskeep a journalist, and Antony Blinken the US Secretary of State.

The journalist asks if we should be prepared to continue to see the destruction of Ukrainian cities in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia

Secretary Bliken answers that yes, we will continue to observe the brutality of Putin as he has already shown in other conflicts such as in Syria or Chechnya. We have to expect the same

Putin thought he could enter Ukraine without any opposition, which is why the conflict lasts.

The issue of China is then addressed. What if it takes part alongside Russia?

China being part of the UN security committee, this would be a problem and would tarnish its image.

He also talks about war crimes in Russia like the Fox news journalists who were killed. He says they are looking into whether journalists are being targeted.

Finally, he explains that many leaders have tried to settle the war through diplomacy, just like the US

One notices then that it is not a war like the others. It is different.
